The Rainbow Repertory Company serves pre-school through college levels with original social issue plays, residencies and programs. Through our collaborations with artists of all genres, we have the opportunity to include music, dance and visual arts as well as drama to serve our clients.

Our social service plays may be presented in up to three acts:
Act I is the actual play or program
Act II is the post-play audience discussion with the actors who stay in character
Act III is classroom follow-up facilitated by a study guide.
Acts I and II are an hour in length. Act III can extend, as needed, on into the school year.
Each Rainbow production is tailored to meet client needs; therefore, every school performance is preceded by a representative of Rainbow meeting with school personnel to determine their specific needs. Scheduling usually requires a six week lead time.

Current play topics include anorexia, diabetes in the African-American population, teen fatherhood, living with disabilities, recovery from mental illness and cancer prevention. Because our repertoire consists of our own original works, there is no problem with adapting our scripts for specific performances. Many of our plays have been funded by foundations and health organizations. Our Rainbow repertoire was created in response to community needs. We welcome your suggestions for future plays.
